The poems included in this section are from the book - ‘From Tourism to Reality’ that was based on an exhibition by the artist/writer called ‘Poetry Illustrated’.

This exhibition went on show in April 1976 at the Wellington Square Art Gallery, Ayr. Afterwards it was exhibited at the James Court Gallery, Edinburgh, the Harbour Arts Gallery, Irvine, and then toured a number locations across Ayrshire.

At the time of publication, one reviewer wrote...

“High octane enthusiasm has produced this excellent first book from a startlingly individual new poet... he started by questioning the well accepted aspects of life – like Love, death, Enjoyment or simply being Alone – with intriguing results.”

TO CONSIDER

And though infallible we cannot hope to be, to choose what's right and never to be wrong.
Still, each waking day, we must by conscious thought decide the next step of our way.
And should you say that life is not ours to decide, or that the pressures of this life leave but one way open.
Still, to consent is ours alone to say.
And we must,
If life is to go on.
