"Supporting the Light"

Your Hand In Mine

Oh restless heart,

wrestling against the waves of time.

Why do you struggle so?

Stretch out your hand to mine.

For help is but a little distance away,

And if you put out your hand,

I will not turn away.

Why do you struggle so, alone?

If you would but reach out

I'd help you with your load.

For though to you,

your burden seems like a cross too heavy to bear,

We two together, your hand in mine,

That burden we could share.

Oh restless heart,

struggling with that load you will not share,

Who has beguiled you to think I do not care?

For though you may not feel my presence near,

My way would be to have you here.

And each new day I look to see your hand outstretched

coming to me.

Why yet delay?

And sinking all the time!

When all you need do

is reach out your hand to mine.
