"Supporting the Light"

Where All Is Calm Within

The wind blows strong with whistling howl.

The clouds, they scatter across the sky.

The waves break hard against the harbour wall.

But all is calm within.

The rolling waves are crested white, they gather as they go.

Advancing ever to the shore then,

breaking on the harbour wall in spray they rise.

But all is calm within.

The little boats are tossed about when they are out at sea.

But safe behind the harbour wall they rest,

Where all is calm within.

And like the sea, life can be rough.

And waves can roll across our heads.

And all our efforts in spray can end,

Like waves upon the harbour wall.

And tossed about we often are.

And sometimes blown off our course.

And roaring howls of discord rise,

like storm clouds gathering.

If only we like little boats a harbour for our souls could find,

We too could shelter from the storm,

Where all is calm within.
